Calista has been dancing her whole life with her mom, Melanie Pagurko, the founder of Dancemaineia. As she got older and her love for ballet grew, she received additional training with Michele and Heather Cox. In addition, Calista has trained with several master class instructors at the Portland School of Ballet and the Casco Bay Movers Dance Studio. Currently Calista trains about 12 hours a week with Elizabeth Drucker at The Ballet School, where she has been dancing for the past four years.
In 2017, Calista was accepted into the Joffrey Ballet School NYC Ballet Intensive. As a scholarship recepient, she received training in ballet and pointe, pas de deux, variations, contemporary, and repertoire during her time at Joffrey NYC. In 2018, Calista attended the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre's 5-week intensive summer program where she was instructed in ballet and pointe, pointe pas de deux, variations, modern, jazz, hip hop, and repertoire.
Calista loves to instruct others to help them learn and grow as dancers while she continues training herself. She is inspired to teach dancers of all ages to help them reach new goals and develop a passion for this incredible art form.
